In April of 2008, Tom and I flew into Las Vegas airport, rented an 4x4 SUV and drove to Zion National Park. Zion is a really beautiful place with many hiking / photo opportunities. From Zion we headed to Bryce Canyon National Park...again...beautiful. Bryce was / is being formed by the porous sandstone absorbing water then freezing at night. When the water freezes, the expansion causes tiny bits of the sandstone to crack away. Next came Page Arizona. Page is home to Lake Powell and the Antelope Canyon slot canyon. The slot canyon was formed by water erosion through the sandstone. The varying color and symmetry are mind blowing. The trip ended up taking us to the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. Utah is a really diverse place. You ought to go out and visit it one day. Take a camera, and a jacket...ohh, you might want to pack an oxygen bottle...hiking at 9000ft is tough! If you enjoyed these photos, leave me a note in the comments section. Thanks for looking....Chris |
